McAlister’s Deli Donates to Indiana Prospects 9U

INDIANAPOLIS—The Indiana Prospects, a statewide baseball organization dedicated to the development of player training and competition, is bringing the community to their feet as they prepare for a tournament of a lifetime. The 12 youth players from Central Indiana area schools are one of only 24 9U teams from across the country to qualify for the USSSA Elite 24 World Series. The prestigious tournament will be held at Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports Complex August 3-10, 2008. In community support of the youth baseball organization, McAlister’s Deli presented the Indiana Prospects 9U team with a donation to assist with fundraising efforts. “We are extremely proud of the Indiana Prospects 9U accomplishment,” said Kent Mabe, VP of Operations for McAlister’s Deli. “These young athletes have worked hard and their determination and energy have inspired the community.” The charitable donation from McAlister’s Deli will assist with the team’s financial commitment as they travel to Florida for this once of a lifetime experience. Mabe adds, “McAlister’s Deli is proud to support an organization that promotes quality youth development. These young athletes will represent the State of Indiana extremely well in this national baseball tournament.” The Indiana Prospects 9U will join the USSSA Baseball Elite World Series August 3-10, 2008, in Orlando, Florida. The double elimination tournament will seed the 24 teams into groups dependent upon their national point level. After playing a total of 9 tournaments, the Indiana Prospects 9U will join the competitive series with a total of 1005 USSSA points. The team’s point standing is supported by 5 tournament championships, 2 runner-up finishes with a finalist classification at the Michigan USSSA Super NIT and 2 third place finishes including a semi-final finish at the Cincinnati Flames Summer Slam tournament. The Indiana Prospects’ strength as an organization will be highly visible at the World Series tournament in August. The organization’s 13U team will join the 9U players at the series in another bracket of tournament play. This abundance of team talent and achievement reflects the strength of the Indiana Prospects Organization and how it contributes to the total player development of these young athletes.
